Ice Storm February 2022!!

We woke up Friday morning to a winter wonderland on the farm! Although it was beautiful from a distance, once looking closely we knew there was a lot of work to do to repair the damages the storm brought. Ice layered over power lines, fences, trees, and roads. The weight of the ice and snow crumbled trees and branches to the ground. The weight of at least eight trees ripped through our fences. Our super convenient automatic watering system was halted because of the three day power outage. We definitely took that for granted as we lugged buckets of water to all the barns! Despite the weather and the work that it brings, the ice and snow truly is so beautiful! And the alpacas love to eat it!
